about
the hunger games premise acts as a world in which to explore characters, writing, and themes—to this end, the mods will be running the actual in-play rounds of hunger games using dice rolls, ai, and NPC tributes. our focus is on the struggles characters are going through, their interactions with each other, and their relationship to the Games.

standard rules apply: there is a two-character limit, and each writer may only bring in one victor at open. generally speaking, avoid discussing real life movies/tv shows/figures etc, although you are encouraged to riff on panem equivalents.

characters
every character must have a relationship to the hunger games, whether as a victor, stylist or escort. if you have ideas for a role beyond those named, please contact the dropbox—we're open to brainstorming, but we want to make sure to keep the focus tight to foster connections.
victors. there is only one victor a year in the hunger games. your pbs and characters must be age appropriate for the year you've chosen to have your character win. the victors/games page provides a guideline on how old your character can currently be if they won a certain year. career districts (1,2,4) are likely to have the most wins, and it is extremely rare for anyone to have won from 12. members writing victors get full creative control when coming up with the details of their games.

mentors. each year, two victors from each district serve as mentors to that year's tributes. if your older character won the games in the past and a younger character won in the same district, you are encouraged to work together on a dynamic.

escorts. escorts were introduced into the hunger games system in the 22nd Games, and are Capitol citizens whose job is to act as support staff for district tributes and victors. escorts come from a wide variety of backgrounds, but all share skills in PR, talent management, and some knowledge of politics. some escorts dedicate themselves to the games as a career, while others use it as a networking or fame opportunity.

stylists. introduced in the 24th Hunger Games, stylists are dedicated to the fashion and presentation of their district. stylists have far more mobility than escorts, and often serve for only a year or two, changing districts often.
in character communication: the capitol is highly technologically advanced. within the capitol itself, systems resembling the internet, virtual reality, and personal mobile devices are common, and in fact have a greater integration into daily life than our world, with body modifications that support communication and commerce.

while in the capitol, all characters have access to public internet and communications channels. characters also have dedicated communication channels to their district and games staff. functionally, this means that characters may use customs to communicate while in the capitol, and may also use capitol-based social media, be featured in news casts, blogs, videos, radio, etc.

outside of the capitol, there is no inter-district communication. in between-games periods, most interactions will be through in-person scenes, plot posts, and the like. victors are allowed limited communication with each other and the capitol based on good behavior; think of it like making calls while in prison. with special permission, some victors may be allowed to stay in the capitol past the games period.
